STEVE P. (Scotts Valley, Ca.): "Definitely the most satisfying home project I've ever done.
It's generally not too cold here in Scotts Valley but even when the temp
drops into the 30's, we can sit comfortably in front of this fire.  It
produces A LOT of heat."  The top of the fireplace is white stucco stained
with iron sulfate.  The main body is masonry block covered on 6 sides (yes,
6) with mariposa slate.  The hearth is slate also, with brown stucco
beneath.
